Description

Soft, sweet cinnamon rolls filled with white chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm. Stir in the melted butter, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and the egg. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until combined.
  5. Punch down the risen dough. Roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a 12×18 inch rectangle.
  6. Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle the chopped white chocolate over the filling.
  7. Roll the dough tightly along the long edge into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal rolls.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. While the rolls bake, whisk together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
  11. Remove rolls from the oven and immediately drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

  • If your kitchen is cold, place the dough bowl inside a turned-off oven with a pan of hot water on the rack below to aid rising.
  • Use good quality white chocolate for the best flavor.
