Description

Spicy jalapeno peppers filled with a creamy seafood mixture and baked until golden.


Ingredients

  • 12 large jalapeno peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces cooked imitation crab meat, flaked
  • 4 ounces cooked shrimp, chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. Rinse the pepper halves under cold water.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, flaked crab meat, chopped shrimp, Monterey Jack cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  5. Spoon the seafood mixture evenly into the jalapeno pepper halves.
  6. Sprinkle the tops of the filled peppers with bread crumbs.
  7. Place the poppers on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Notes

  • For less heat, remove all seeds and white membrane from the jalapenos.
  • You can substitute real crab or other cooked seafood for the imitation crab.
