Description

A simple cake recipe using orange soda for moisture and flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 can (12 oz) orange soda, undiluted
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, orange soda, pudding mix, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix on medium speed for two minutes.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  6. Mix the orange juice and orange zest together. Drizzle this mixture over the cooled cake.

Notes

  • You can use a simple glaze of powdered sugar and orange juice instead of the orange juice and zest topping.
  • For a richer flavor, use a white cake mix instead of yellow.
