Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the beef broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  5. Pour the beef mixture into a 9-inch pie dish.
  6. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the beef mixture. Dot the top with butter.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the topping is lightly browned and the filling is hot.

Notes

  • You can add 1/2 cup of frozen peas and carrots to the beef mixture for extra vegetables.
