Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • For the Avocado Crema:
  • 1 ripe avocado, pitted and scooped
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
  3. Warm tortillas according to package directions.
  4. While shrimp cooks, prepare the avocado crema: Combine avocado, sour cream, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
  5. Assemble tacos: Fill each tortilla with cooked shrimp. Top with avocado crema and chopped cilantro.
  6. Serve immediately with lime wedges.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the shrimp seasoning.
  • If you don’t have sour cream, plain Greek yogurt can be substituted in the crema.
