- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 small corn tortillas
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- For the Avocado Crema:
- 1 ripe avocado, pitted and scooped
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
- Warm tortillas according to package directions.
- While shrimp cooks, prepare the avocado crema: Combine avocado, sour cream, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
- Assemble tacos: Fill each tortilla with cooked shrimp. Top with avocado crema and chopped cilantro.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges.
Notes
- For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the shrimp seasoning.
- If you don’t have sour cream, plain Greek yogurt can be substituted in the crema.
