Description

A layered dessert featuring a salty pretzel crust, a creamy filling, and a sweet strawberry topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 package (3 ounces) strawberry gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Press mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  4. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture. Spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
  5. In a bowl, dissolve gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in 1 cup of cold water. Let it cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
  6. Gently fold the sliced strawberries into the cooled gelatin mixture. Pour the strawberry gelatin mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the gelatin is set.

Notes

  • Use finely crushed pretzels for a compact crust.
  • Make sure the gelatin mixture is cool before pouring it over the cream cheese layer to prevent melting.
