Description
A simple cake recipe featuring a chocolate base, caramel and peanut butter filling, and a whipped topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
- Water, oil, and eggs as directed on cake mix box
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped Snickers candy bars
Instructions
- Prepare and bake the chocolate cake according to the box directions. Let the cake cool slightly in the pan.
- While the cake is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cake, about 1 inch apart.
- In a small bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, and peanut butter until smooth.
- Pour the caramel-peanut butter mixture evenly over the top of the warm cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Let the cake cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream evenly over the cooled cake.
- Sprinkle the chopped Snickers bars over the whipped cream topping.
- Chill the cake for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- You can use store-bought caramel sauce or make your own.
- For a firmer topping, use a stabilized whipped topping instead of fresh whipped cream.
- Keep leftovers refrigerated.
