Description

A quick recipe for preparing baby bok choy by sautéing it with garlic and soy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 heads baby bok choy
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Wash the baby bok choy thoroughly and separate the leaves. Cut the base of each head so the leaves separate easily.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
  4. Add the bok choy to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes until the leaves wilt and the stems are tender-crisp.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss everything together quickly to coat the bok choy evenly.
  6. Add a pinch of salt if needed, depending on the saltiness of your soy sauce.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of grated fresh ginger with the garlic.
  • If you prefer a slightly softer texture, cover the skillet for the last minute of cooking.
