Description
A straightforward recipe for chicken coated in a sweet and spicy honey glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to heat preference)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and garlic powder to create the glaze.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken to the hot skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, until cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
- Reduce the heat to low. Pour the prepared honey glaze over the chicken.
- Simmer for 1-2 minutes, turning the chicken pieces to coat them completely in the sauce until the glaze thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
Notes
- For crispier skin, you can bake or air fry the chicken first, then toss it in the warm glaze.
- Use your preferred type of hot sauce for varying levels of heat.
