Description
A simple skillet meal featuring sliced sausage, bell peppers, and onions cooked together.
Ingredients

- 1 pound Italian sausage links
- 2 large bell peppers (any color), sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1/4 cup water or broth
Instructions
- Slice the sausage links into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sausage to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the sausage and set aside.
- Add the sliced peppers and onion to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Stir in the oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. If the mixture seems dry, add 1/4 cup of water or broth.
- Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, stirring to combine all ingredients.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use sweet or hot Italian sausage based on your preference.
- Serve this dish on its own, over rice, or inside hoagie rolls.
