Classic Ham and Cheese Picnic Sandwiches

Description

Simple ham and cheese sandwiches suitable for packing for a picnic.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 8 thin slices cooked ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 large lettuce leaves

Instructions

  1. Mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard in a small bowl.
  2. Spread the mustard-mayonnaise mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On four slices of bread, layer two slices of ham and two slices of Swiss cheese.
  4. Place one lettuce leaf on top of the cheese on each sandwich half.
  5. Top with the remaining four slices of bread, spread-side down.
  6. Cut each sandwich in half diagonally.
