Description

A simple baked casserole that tastes like pepperoni pizza.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the skillet with the beef. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Add the egg noodles and water to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
  5. Cover the skillet and cook over low heat for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the noodles are tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in half of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and the sliced pepperoni.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture.
  • You can substitute ground turkey for the ground beef.
