Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lb Mahi Mahi fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 small corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 0.5 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- For Crema: 0.5 cup sour cream, 1 tablespoon lime juice, 1 teaspoon hot sauce
Instructions
- Mix chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over the Mahi Mahi fillets.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the fish for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until opaque and easily flaked with a fork.
- While the fish cooks, prepare the crema by whisking together sour cream, lime juice, and hot sauce in a small bowl.
- Warm the corn tortillas according to package directions, usually by heating them briefly in a dry skillet or microwave.
- Flake the cooked fish into bite-sized pieces.
- Assemble the tacos: place flaked fish on each warm tortilla, top with shredded cabbage and cilantro.
- Drizzle with the prepared crema and serve immediately with lime wedges.
Notes
- You can grill the fish instead of pan-frying for a smoky flavor.
- For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice rub.
