Description
A flavorful classic spaghetti bolognese recipe.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pound spaghetti
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain.
- Serve bolognese sauce over cooked spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of red wine to the skillet after cooking the onions and garlic, and let it simmer for a few minutes before adding the tomatoes.
- You can also add other vegetables like chopped carrots or celery along with the onion for extra flavor and nutrients.
