Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain.
  5. Serve bolognese sauce over cooked spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of red wine to the skillet after cooking the onions and garlic, and let it simmer for a few minutes before adding the tomatoes.
