A flavorful pesto pasta dish ready in minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pasta
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup pine nuts
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- While pasta cooks, combine basil, Parmesan, pine nuts, garlic, and olive oil in a food processor.
- Process until smooth.
- Drain pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- Return pasta to the pot. Add pesto and toss to coat.
- Add reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
- Season with salt and pepper.
Notes
- For a nut-free version, substitute sunflower seeds for pine nuts.
- Add cooked chicken or shrimp for a complete meal.
