- 6 cups fresh peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to coat the peaches evenly.
- Pour the peach mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peach mixture.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- If fresh peaches are not available, you can use frozen or canned peaches, drained well.
