- 6 cups popped popcorn
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, place the popped popcorn.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a boil.
- Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and stir to coat evenly.
- Let cool slightly until the mixture is easy to handle.
- Grease your hands with butter or cooking spray.
- Shape the popcorn mixture into balls.
- Let the popcorn balls cool completely on wax paper.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add 1/4 cup of chopped peanuts or pecans to the popcorn mixture before shaping.
