Description

Simple recipe for green beans cooked with garlic and butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash and trim the ends from the green beans.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet.
  5. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the beans are tender-crisp.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute olive oil for half the butter if you prefer a lighter flavor.
  • For extra flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
