Description

Easy-to-make sweet rolls filled with chocolate hazelnut spread.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  3. Spread the Nutella evenly over the entire surface of the dough, leaving a small border on one long edge.
  4. Starting from the long edge opposite the border, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  5. Pinch the seam closed to seal the roll.
  6. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces, about 1 inch thick.
  7. Place the rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between them.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash.
  9. Brush the tops of the rolls lightly with the egg wash.
  10. Sprinkle the granulated sugar evenly over the tops of the rolls.
  11. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can warm the Nutella slightly before spreading to make it easier to work with.
  • If you prefer a glaze, mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon milk and drizzle over the warm rolls.
