Description
A fast recipe for a single-serving chocolate cake made in a microwave.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 4 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips, if using.
- Microwave on high for 60 to 90 seconds. Cooking time varies by microwave power. Check for doneness; the cake should be set but still slightly moist.
- Let cool for one minute before eating directly from the mug.
Notes
- If the cake seems dry after cooking, try reducing the microwave time by 10 seconds next time.
- You can add a small spoonful of peanut butter in the center before cooking for a molten filling.
