Description
A basic recipe for classic chicken noodle soup.
Ingredients

- 6 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken breast
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup egg noodles
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Combine chicken broth, shredded chicken, carrots, celery, thyme, salt, and pepper in a large pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
- Add the egg noodles to the pot.
- Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth.
- You can substitute dried parsley for thyme if desired.
