Description
A simple one-pan meal combining ground beef, cheese, and rice for a quick dinner.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
- Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cream of mushroom soup and water to the skillet. Mix well.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Stir in the uncooked rice.
- Cover the skillet and reduce heat to low. Cook for 20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of celery soup for cream of mushroom soup if desired.
- Use your favorite type of melting cheese instead of cheddar.
