Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, and salt until crumbly.
  3. Press the crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 15 minutes.
  5. While the crust bakes, mix the sweetened condensed milk, shredded coconut, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  6. Spread the coconut mixture evenly over the partially baked crust.
  7. Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, until the topping is lightly golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle the caramel sauce over the top.
  9. Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
