Description
Make crispy baked chicken wings coated in a tangy Buffalo sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Pat the chicken wings very dry with paper towels. This helps them crisp up.
- In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder and salt until evenly coated.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the wings bake, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
- Remove the butter from the heat and stir in the hot sauce and vinegar. Mix well.
- Place the cooked wings in a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss until every piece is coated.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can chill the seasoned wings in the refrigerator, uncovered, for at least one hour before baking.
- Use your favorite brand of cayenne pepper-based hot sauce for the authentic flavor.
