Description
A quick recipe for making refreshing frozen wine drinks with mixed berries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750 ml) dry red wine, chilled
- 2 cups frozen mixed berries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely to make a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let cool.
- In a blender, combine the chilled wine, frozen berries, cooled simple syrup, and lemon juice.
- Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and has a slushy consistency. Add a few ice cubes if needed for thickness, but avoid making it too watery.
- Pour the slushy mixture into glasses immediately.
- Serve right away.
Notes
- For a sweeter drink, increase the sugar slightly.
- Use a wine you enjoy drinking on its own, as the flavor concentrates when frozen.
- If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more wine or water.
